UC treatment options
Hi,
Friend of mine has child 9 year old with UC and is on pentasa ( Mesalamime) and is not working so the doctor wants to add immunosupressant and corricosteroid. she was told the biologic treatment is not first line and from the combo above she can easily wean off and eventualy be withou meds versus she could not do that if she were on biologic. does this sound correct? im not familiar with UC treatment, but I thought they are similar as crohn
