Help please re lactulose!

Hello all,

A while since I was on here! My son is now 27 and doing pretty well but a couple of years ago had a scope under GA as can’t tolerate it awake due to fissures. They were checking for a fistula but he didn’t have one. He was advised to take lactulose daily to ensure what he passed was soft and easy past the fissures.

However now it seems to affect him in that he feels he needs to go loads and his tummy feels unsettled.

Has anyone got an alternative to help keep things soft? He…
